July Round Up
Not too many runners during July but plenty going on behind the scenes. Most of the horses are now back in from the fields following their summer holiday. They are all looking really well for their well deserved rest in the sunshine. Just the youngsters still to come in over the next few weeks.
Templepark made a very pleasing start to his career under rules finishing 2nd at Worcester in the bumper, he has come out of his race well and is due to run back at Worcester on the 15th August.
Sheila Tanist ran well at Uttoxeter where she finished 3rd, she just needs one more run before getting her handicap mark and may go to either Southwell or Worcester. She looks to be a fun horse for the Case Racing Partnership. Ginger Fizz ran another solid race at Worcester to finish 4th and Oksana was running well, also at Worcester when she was knocked sideways at the second last hurdle and was unable to recover but finished a creditable 6th. Monar Rose ran back at Market Rasen on Sunday, she jumped well but just didn't quite see out the trip and finished 5th.
I was delighted with Croco Bay who made his return at Worcester after having 16 months on the sidelines, he had been working well at home and had also been doing lots of swimming to aid his recovery. He was just denied his win but I was so pleased to see that he still retains his ability and enthusiasm for racing and I was happy to settle for 2nd! He has come out of his race in really good form.
The new Andrews Bowen gallop has now been in for 6 weeks and is working really well, we are all really pleased with the way it is riding and how it compliments the hill gallop.
We checked up on the youngsters up in Norfolk last week who are all growing and looking really well.
Our annual owners open day will be held on Sunday 30th September, with the usual show of horses followed by lunch - if you have not received an invitation and would like to come along please do get in touch.
