First Drift & J'ai Froid Win
Having had a quiet few weeks whilst waiting for the ground to change and with meetings cancelled due to the outbreak of equine flu it was great to get back to the races with two good winners this week.
First Drift got the ball rolling with a really good win back over hurdles at Newbury on Saturday in the Peter O’Sullevan Charitable Trust HOPE Programme Senior’s Handicap Hurdle for Max Kendrick and Carolyn Kendrick. First Drift has been a model of consistency making this his 6th win. He is very talented and hopefully he can continue to win races both over hurdles and fences.
J’ai Froid was our second winner of the week in the GG Fast Results Handicap Hurdle at Exeter also ridden by Max Kendrick for owner Kathryn Bromley. The rain came just in time for J’ai Froid as he loves the soft ground and this was a first winner for his owner. J’ai Froid is a lovely horse for the furture, one I purchased as a foal, and is very progressive, he may make a quick return at Hereford on Saturday if the ground is suitable.
Kilbrew Boy put up another great performance at Fakenham and just got caught on the line to finish 3rd under Kielan Woods for owner Lady Jane Grosvenor.
George is taking part in a charity flat race at Warwick racecourse on the 22nd May in aid of the local Air Ambulance. Any donations would be greatly appreciated for this fantastic cause.
Entries this week include J’ai Froid, Dash Of Blue, Graceful Legend and Presenting Rio - hopefully we can continue the good run of form.
