Graceful Legend wins at Ascot
A great day on Saturday with Graceful Legend winning the Trisoft Mares' Handicap Hurdle under Max Kendrick, she was in a prominant position throughout the race and ran on well to win by 5 lengths. Delighted for her owners the Allen family as she was also bred at Edgcote and has now won 5 times.
It was also nice to break the run of 2nds! Themanfrom Minella bounced back to form at Exeter, also under Max Kendrick, to finish 2nd, the first time blinkers seemed to do the trick and he jumped really well out in front. Shanroe Saint also finished 2nd at Warwick under Daryl Jacob, he ran another solid race and is now eligible for handicaps and I am sure he will give his owners the Polk Partnership lots of fun.
Kings Temptation was in the process of running really well when taking a heavy fall at Kempton, thankfully both horse and jockey, Daryl Jacob, are fine.
Oski was running a fine race at Cheltenham when 3 from home the hurdle flipped back and he had nowhere to go, sensibly Max pulled him up and he will be out again soon.
Wish in A Well finished 4th at Fontwell, Oksana ran well at Southwell also to finish 4th and I was very pleased with Coded Message who finished 6th in the competitive mares bumper also at Southwell, the only slight disappointment was Zara's Reflection who shows plenty at home but did not show up at Southwell, she will now run over hurdles.
Ginger Fizz had her last run of the season at Worcester where she finished 4th, she will now have a winter break but has had a great summer winning twice and being placed on numerous occassions. Pulp Fiction also ran really well at Worcester to finish 2nd only beaten a nose, he has entries at Newbury, Doncaster and Bangor over the weekend and is one to look forward to.
Dakkar Collonges ran well at Fontwell to finish 3rd.
Phare Isle was very unlucky to be brought down at Huntingdon, he seems to be none the worse and has an entry at Fakenham on Monday.
I also spent a week at Tattersalls Ireland foal sales where I managed to purchase five lovely foals for Lady Jane Grosvenor, 2 by Flemensfirth, one by Getaway, one by Walk In The Park and one by No Risk At All, they are likely to head back to the sales as 3 year olds and we look forward to watching them progress.
